Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has achieved a major milestone by securing its biggest-ever offshore project. The company’s hydrocarbon business has won an ‘ultra mega’ contract from QatarEnergy LNG for the North Field Production Sustainability Offshore Compression Project. This deal is classified as ‘ultra mega’ since L&T defines contracts above ₹15,000 crore under this category.

The project involves building two large offshore compression complexes. These facilities will include power generation units, living quarters, flare platforms, and bridges, all interconnected to ensure smooth energy production. The structures will be located 80 kilometers off the northeast coast of Qatar and are expected to play a key role in strengthening the country’s energy supply.

For L&T, this contract is a landmark achievement. Chairman & Managing Director S N Subrahmanyan called it the company’s largest single order in history. Deputy Managing Director Subramanian Sarma emphasized that this deal strengthens L&T’s partnership with QatarEnergy and reaffirms its commitment to providing reliable and innovative energy solutions.

Its total revenue jumped 17% to ₹64,668 crore, driven by a strong order book and efficient execution of ongoing projects. Notably, L&T’s international business now contributes 51% of its total revenue, reflecting its growing presence in global markets.
