Dalmia Bharat has taken another step forward in expanding its presence in the cement industry. The company has started commercial production at its newly expanded cement grinding unit in Lanka, Hojai district, Assam. This expansion adds 2.4 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) to its existing production capacity, bringing the group's total capacity to 49 MTPA.
The project, which cost โน696 crore, was financed through a mix of equity, debt, and internal accruals. By increasing its production in Assam, Dalmia Bharat aims to strengthen its foothold in the northeastern region, where demand for cement is rising due to infrastructure and construction activities.
With this expansion, the companyโs capacity utilization now stands at 60% on a pro-rata basis.
This development marks another milestone for Dalmia Bharat as it continues to scale up operations and reinforce its position as one of Indiaโs leading cement manufacturers. The companyโs focus on expanding in key regions ensures that it remains well-positioned to support Indiaโs infrastructure growth in the coming years.
